Sydney, March 13 – This week, PANTA RAY’s President Gianna Detoni is working alongside other 120 experts of the ISO TC 292 committee in a plenary session in Sydney to review and update the ISO22301, the international standard of reference for Business Continuity Management.
ISO22301 provides a framework to design, implement, test and continuously review a Business Continuity Management System. With the aim of helping any organization, no matter their size, location or activity, be more prepared to face any type of threat.
Below the words of Saul Midler, project leader of the ISO review:
“As time moves forward, our experience and understanding of Business Continuity Management continues to develop. While the standard provides the systematic approach for BCM, each country, each organisation and each practitioner has undertaken BCM in their own way. This creates a wonderful opportunity to take stock of the experience gained from across the global BCM community to identify opportunities for aligning ISO 22301 with today’s BCM thinking. The mechanics of the ISO processes requests that a Systematic Review be undertaken every 5 years and, you may be surprised to realise, ISO22301 is 5 years old.”
The ultimate goal is to deliver within the end of the year an ISO22301 that can support professionals and organizations even better.
